Built by People Who Get It
Gluveto started as a research project between friends - and became a resource trusted by people navigating gluten-free living every day.
A Friend's Diagnosis Changed Everything
A few years ago, one of our closest friends was diagnosed with celiac disease. We were all in our mid-twenties - none of us knew much about it beyond “no bread.” What followed was weeks of confusing research: long ingredient lists, contradictory forum posts, vague manufacturer statements, and foods we assumed were safe turning out not to be.
It became a group project. We split up research tasks, shared findings over group chats, and compared notes on what was actually safe. Pretty quickly we realised that most of the information online was either too vague to be useful, buried in medical jargon, or written for clicks rather than clarity.
So we built something better - for her, and eventually for everyone else in the same situation.
Gluveto started as a shared document. It grew into a structured database. Now it's a full editorial resource covering hundreds of foods, ingredients, sauces, snacks, and restaurant staples - each one reviewed for celiac safety, cross-contamination risk, and hidden gluten sources.
What We Research
Ingredient Analysis
We analyze full ingredient lists, manufacturing disclosures, and allergen statements - covering hidden gluten sources most resources overlook.
Cross-Contamination Risk
We evaluate manufacturing warnings, shared-equipment disclosures, and facility contamination risks for every guide we publish.
Celiac Safety Review
Each guide is reviewed against FDA gluten-free standards (less than 20ppm) and current celiac research before it goes live.
Our Approach
No invented credentials.
We don't create fake expert personas or inflate our authority. Our research is grounded in publicly available FDA guidelines, manufacturer labeling disclosures, and established celiac research.
Primary sources first.
We go directly to the source: FDA.gov, product labels, official manufacturer allergen statements, and organisations like the Celiac Disease Foundation - before anywhere else.
We update when things change.
Food formulations change. Manufacturers update their facilities. When we learn something has changed - from a reader, a new label scan, or updated guidance - we revise the content.
Corrections are welcome.
We're a small team and we don't get everything right on the first pass. If you spot something outdated or incorrect, we genuinely want to know. See our Editorial Policy for how to reach us.
